I spent 5 years at BlackRock building enterprise software, working across front-end development and design. I created interfaces for institutional clients managing billions in assets - where unclear UI costs money and time.

Working at the intersection of design and development means I understand what's feasible before I design it. I can look at an API response and know how it'll constrain the UI, understand why engineers resist certain patterns, and design within system limitations instead of against them. This means fewer surprises during implementation, less rework, and designs that actually ship.

I completed BrainStation's UX diploma to formalise my design process and learn structured research methods I hadn't been exposed to in my previous role. Now I'm looking for a product role where technical feasibility matters and you're building complex tools for people who need them to work, not just look good.
